Here is a little impromptu poll to hear what you all think.

Outside of the main 4 Rangers who are your next 3 favorite characters - and to widen it out you can do good guy/bad guy columns.

I'll start, and feel free to add in comments why you like them.

Good Guys
1. Waldo and Zozo - well it all started because of these 2 and I liked how they were used in the show and not discarded.
2. Buzzwang - didn't like the voice but it made sense to have this robotic Ranger around.
3. Captain Kidd - OK was he a bad guy or good guy - he was both, so I'll put him here. Definitely one of the more unique designed characters.


Bad Guys
1. McCross - awesome look and pops up a few times.
2. Ryker Killbane - great character.
3. Scarecrow - scary character and added some darkness to the show.

1. Q-ball (Great ideas)

2. Captain Kidd (never knew where he was coming from)

3. Zozo

 

Bad Guys. (Many cool bad guys)

1. Scarecrow (evil to the bone)

2. Daisy Omega( Cause she can shoot a blaster better than I)

3. Macross 

4.Bubblehead

5.Slaverlords

6. Darkstar

Man, I LOVE that you are posting here and looking for input, Hyperchild. That's very cool of you. Great topic, too.

 

Bad Guys:

- The Queen (fantastic iconic villian)

- Crown Agent or is that Trooper? (Great look. Very cool)

- Slaverlords (Scary & cool. GR's version of the popular Star Wars Emperor's Royal Guard)

- McCross (great villian, alway double-crossing)

 

Good Guys:

- Goose in black costume or Goose Supertrooper (Goose was alway my favorite character. Combined Clint Eastwood with Marvel's Wolverine, and terrific mutant like powers)

- Captain Kidd (liked the foe/friend nature of this pirate)

- Commander Walsh (Ranger bossman. Nice to have someone the Rangers answer to)

- Waldo & Zoso ("In 2086...heck, they are the reason the GR team exists!)

 

Man...there are way too many great charcters to narrow it down.

By the end of the series, there were over 365 characters designed and used in The Galaxy Rangers series.  That's got to be some kind of record.  To their credit, TMS never freaked out.

 

ok, i'll toss my favs in:

 

Bad Guys:

Macross - best design, best voice by Ray Owens

Daisy O'mega - Always wanted to do a backstory but time ran out.

Darkstar - Can Goose ever forget his first love?

 

Semi good guys:

Geezi - Chris Rowley created the Pedulonts, now that's an alien with a nose for trouble - also best noises by any character.

 

Larry - he's a rock god

 

Capt Kidd - Tortuna and Kidd came from "Captain Blood," one of my favorite movies.  Although Kidd's personality is pure Harry Mudd

 

Good guys:

Niko -  funny, smart,  carries a big gun

Doc - always the gentleman

Goose - deeply troubled but does what he has to - by any means

The Good:

 

  1. Audra Miles – The second toughest chick at Beta
  2. Commander Blake – He goes by the book, but makes it look fun.
  3. Ranger One – Ok, so it’s not exactly a person…..but what would the Rangers do without it? Best looking spaceship ever.

 

The Bad:

 

  1. Nimrod – Best hair and make-up this side of Jem and The Holograms. Also love the way he talks in rhymes.
  2. The Queen – Strong villain. Even willing to carry out genocide.
  3. Scarecrow – Creepy looking. Dared to call Niko a “little insect”.

 

The Good/Bad:

 

  1. Larry – He’s adorable. I can’t explain it.
  2. Capt. Kidd – Bad guy by choice. Reluctant good guy.
  3. Darkstar – She dates a bad boy and hangs out with the wrong crowd but deep down she’s a good person.

 

Honorable Mention:

 

1. Gunner – Anyone who can grow an umbrella out of their head to keep Capt. Kidd from spitting on them deserves to be mentioned.

Okay, for the good guys, here's my pic:

Zozo  }
Waldo } These two made the trip to Earth to get the ball rolling and then, kept in the thick of it all. 

Walsh - after all, how many times has he put himself on the line for Goose & the S5's?


Bad Guys:

Daisy O'Mega - yes, she's a gunslinger, but she has her own rules she lives by.  She's not evil, just happens to do things on her own side of the law. 

MaCross - creeepy.  He'd kill his own mother if she was in the way of him getting to a treasure

Sacrecrow - ancient evil weapon.  What more need I say?  He gives me the chills!

Queenie - another anicent evil. Just what's her history?  How many lives has she drained in order to extend her life? 

As another person said, Gunner needs an honorable mention for style points alone.  Come on, he popped an umbrella out of his head in order to keep from being sprayed by Kidd.
