Pretty good,  though I'm more a fan of the Fox/Doc pic than I am the Goose one.

Justin, your artwork is terrific!

I love the style. It captures the likeness of the Rangers very well, while giving it a very "new comic" look. The sketch-look (?) and the coloring, also give it a very space western look. (Looks somewhat like weathered-high tech....very cool)

You've really captured the four main characters well, Justin. Will you be referencing/using other of the great GR designs (for the starships, weapons, locations, planets, etc.)? These to me were just as important and significant designs as the main charcters themselves. And these designs reallly helped forge the feeling that GR was indeed it's own unique universe.

I noticed that in the Goose pic, he's holding some newly designed blasters. They look great! If possible, don't forget this iconic blaster that all the Rangers used in the series (minus the extended clip, and target, of course!). I love the unique look of this blaster...totally Rangers! :)

Keep up the great work! I can't wait to be able to purchase this terrific looking graphic novel.

-Peter

Thanks a lot for posting these! I like the style and the new designs, especially the ship. (This coming from a girl, here )

However...  Niko's new red scarf/belt? Has to go IMO. The reason being simply that it's very impractical, and obviously there just for decoration. I liked Niko exactly because she was a female cartoon character who was NOT just there for decorative purposes.

I can see that it's a nod to 80s anime design. But wearing a belt  like that is highly impractical in a (hand to hand) fight, seing that all her opponent would have to do is pull. Will get you killed. Has to go.

hyperchild,

Thanks a million for those pictures

I especially love the picture of Niko and Mel. The detail on Mel is fantastic! That's what I'm talking about.

Jabba the drunk and  yelahttam,

Thanks for the kind words.  Robert approached me years ago about trying the Yoji Shinkawa style for the rangers . He was the lead designer of the first metal gear soild video game. We were both big fans of his art. The big concern is how to update the canon, while trying new things.

Godzina,

I personally liked the scarf/sash, it was on the art model that robert gave me a long time ago. It inspired me for some ideas on the art and a new storyline (which i don't have too much to do with).

What does everybody think??

sorry about all the weird fonts , I deleted what i was originally writing when I went back a page.

Gonna crank out some more art when i get off this other project that i'm working on.
